How it works PPC's ( powered parachutes ) have been around for over 20 years and have one of the safest records in the ultralight class of aircraft. And that's because they are so slow, so simple, so easy and so forgiving. Here's how it works. One or two people ride in a cart . To start you empty the parachute out of it's bag and lay it out carefully behind the cart. You next buckle into the cart, start the engine, throttle up and the parachute pops up overhead and inflates its cells as you move forward. When you are sure it's fully inflated and stable, throttle up more and within feet you are flying! The parachute acts like the wing of an airplane and gives lift as it moves forward. To climb add throttle, to cruise throttle back some, to descend throttle back more. To turn left push the left steering bar with your left foot. Right for right. That is it! Simple isn't it? LAYOUT INFLATION TAKEOFF FAQ's What happens if the engine quits? - A powered parachute will glide under full steering control and even a semi experienced pilot can land gently. Even if the pilot did nothing ( hands and feet off all controls ) a PPC will glide to the ground with a downward speed of only about 6 MPH, which is equivalent to being dropped 1.5 feet! What about training? - Training is also very easy. You must receive some training that generally involves about 5 hours of one on one ground school and 5 hours of one on one flight training. The low hours of training needed and the relatively low cost of purchasing a powered parachute, makes this sport by far the most affordable in aviation. What about regulations? - There are some but relatively few regulations relating to these aircraft and pilots licenses. You will learn these in your ground school course. Warranty 1 year on airframe ( cart ). Engine warranty as per engine manufacturer ( usually 6 - 12 months ). Instrument warranty as per instrument manufacturer ( usually l year ). Prop warranty as per prop manufacturer ( usually l year ). Parachute warranty as per parachute manufacturer ( up to 3 years ). What is important? The 4 most important things when shopping for a powered parachute! Safety Comfort Dependability Ease of Use You will find that the Sundog's strength, design, simplicity, comfortable side by side seating, warrantee and intuitiveness of controls, more than meets these 4 most important criteria. joe@sundogpowerchutes.com www.sundogpowerchutes.com Pierceland, Saskatchewan, Canada Joe or Linette 306-839-2173 Dan 306-839-2275 |

About Sundog Made in Western Canada The Sundog is different. As you probably have noticed from our pictures, Sundog powered parachutes are quite different than all the other cloned powered parachutes on the market. We noticed PPC's getting more and more complicated, and longer and heavier over the past few years. As well, we noticed dozens of new upstart powered parachute manufacturers simply cloning the general configurations of the few longtime PPC companies. The Sundog is a modern powered parachute rethought! A PPC that is kept simple, small, light and still excels in safety, comfort, strength, dependability and ease of use. |
